the LIFE of EARLE BARR

EARLE's  life of Art and Photography began at an early age in a Toronto of small neighbourhoods. It all started with a gift from his grandfather of a very simple camera.  By age 13, he was developing and printing film. His public school teacher  –  seeing his talent for drawing  –  soon had him bundled off to art classes started by ‘Group of Seven’ painter Arthur Lismer      ≈     his Future Path was set

It is said that an artist is defined by his craft.  If so, even the most cursory glance at the oeuvre of Earle Barr would suggest a man of many personalities   ~  for in it we see the work of many. Indeed, artists as a whole tend to fall into two camps;  those who have a singular goal, focusing on a particular task or mode of expression, and those who insist on pursuing everything.

EARLE BARR FALL FIRMLY INTO THE LATTER CAMP

Earle has been successful in a variety of disciplines:  Drawing • WaterColours • Oil Painting • LinoCuts • Acrylics • Woolpainting • Abstract•Expressionism and Representational•Abstracts ...and always .....there was Photography.

Earle's Fine Art Photography has earned him many awards around the World.

FRAN ... Although involved with raising a family, keeping a home, and employment outside this base, Frances attended many painter's exhibitions, photo seminars, etc. all of which enhanced her appreciation of the talents displayed by the various artists whose work she admired. One day she picked up a camera and a tripod, and started to explore her own creativity. Since then she has been the recipient of many awards in photography salons and has the pleasure of knowing that her work resides internationally in several countries as well as Canada.

Nature, Gardens, Landscapes and Architecture are influences that inspire. An early exposure to architectural design made a lasting impression, especially an appreciation for the qualities of form. Today, in her creative life shared with husband Earle, (a multi-talented photographer and painter) they continue to seek out the magic and wonder of the world. An on-going desire to wander the back roads always inspires new images.

A move to South-Western Ontario in 2010 -–– with all its wonderful villages, towns, cities, and natural areas - has revealed a wealth of new opportunities to practice the Art of Photography.
